BestFrnd is operated by Oggnai Technologies Private Limited (“we”, “us” or “our”), the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through BestFrnd.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account, your conversations with the AI companion, and usage data to improve the Service.

Account information: Name, email address, authentication credentials (including Google OAuth tokens).

Conversation data: Text messages, voice call transcripts, and memories stored by your AI companion.

Usage data: Device information, interaction patterns, and feature usage to improve our Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize your AI companion experience
  • To maintain conversation memory across sessions
  • To improve and optimize the Service
  • To communicate with you about your account
  • To ensure security and prevent fraud

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • AI service providers: To process your conversations (subject to their privacy policies)
  • Infrastructure providers: For hosting and service delivery
  • Payment provider: Freemius processes subscription payments as our merchant of record
  • Analytics provider: Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Service
  • Legal authorities: When required by law

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your conversation history
  • Opt out of non-essential data collection
  • Delete specific memories stored by your AI companion

You can delete your memories and all of your data from the Settings page. For any other request, email us at privacy@bestfrnd.com.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to measure how visitors use the Service.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
